We are very excited to announce that we have a wonderful partner for our travel program. We will be offering small group travel (20 maximum) to begin with but we will also have access to larger group trips if desired. In addition we will be offering small boat adventures (24 to 89 passengers) and also  400-1000 passenger capacity. Our partner, Overseas Adventure Travel/ Grand Circle Travel / Grand Circle Cruise Line has a long history of providing excellent, safe, exciting and adventurous travel experiences. Here are some highlights of OAT & GCCL:

1958 GCT established by Ethel Andrus, who also founded the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) that year.

1985 Alan and Harriet Lewis purchase GCT – they still own and manage the companies.

1992 Grand Circle Foundation established to support non-profit organizations in countries where GCT tours.

1998 Grand Circle Cruise Line established and started river cruises in Europe, now greatly expanded

GCT is now celebrating its  in the travel business.

1978  OAT started by a high school teacher to offer the first tented safaris in Tanzania.

1993 GCT purchases OAT to specialize in offering tours for persons over 50.

OAT is now celebrating its 40th year of small group adventurous travel.

As you can see, we have a very experienced travel partner and they can handle all the aspects of our trips:

  • The land tour itself (very comprehensive)
  • The flights within the US and to and within international destinations,
  • Also travel insurance which is always a good idea on major trips.
  • IN ADDITION, when you travel with us, you will receive a travel credit towards your next trip

We will have many types of trips to offer to Aging but DANGEROUS members (and their spouses, partners, travel buddies, etc.) so be sure to complete the travel survey to help us.  Because international travel requires some advanced planning we will be offering our first Aging but DANGEROUS exclusive trips starting in early 2019.

In the meantime, I’ll be helping you prepare for the trips – in case you haven’t traveled internationally before. If you are an experienced traveler, I’d love for you to share some of your tips and thoughts with the rest of us. Send your comments to me at: travel@agingbutdangerous.com

Until Next Time, Happy Travels!
